Prototype 1.25 MW turbine made in Bremerhaven
A prototype of a new 1.25 MW machine designed by German engineering company WindForce is be installed this year at a site near Bremerhaven, where the assembly facility is located. It will first be unveiled at the Husum WindEnergy trade fair in northern Germany in September. Sixteen of the turbines are to be installed in Turkey by Innovative Wind Power (IWP), a subsidiary of Dubai's Innovative Energy Group. IWP is supplying the machines for a project developed by Sabas Electricity, destined for a site at Aydin, 200 kilometres south of Izmir. Turbine delivery is scheduled to begin at the start of 2009, says IWP's says Akin Gündüz.
