RES sells 20 MW in Northern Ireland
Renewable Energy Systems (RES) UK Ltd has sold its 20 MW Hunters Hill project in Tyrone, Northern Ireland, to Irish energy company ESB. The eight Nordex turbines are currently under construction near Fivemiletown, next to Lendrum's Bridge wind farm, another RES project. Joe O'Mahony says that the acquisition is in line with ESB's renewable strategy to build its wind portfolio to 600 MW by 2012. This includes 200 MW in Northern Ireland and mainland Britain. RES will continue to project manage the construction of the wind farm, which is expected to be completed in the autumn. Douglas Wright of RES says the sale demonstrates his company's strong track record of successful project development and construction in Northern Ireland, where RES is the leading developer."
