Turbine maker Ecotècnia says it has orders for 800 MW for the next three years, mainly for the company's 1.67 MW machine. Construction is already underway on 307 MW in five projects in Spain, says company boss Antoni Martínez, with a further 91 MW ready in the wings. These imminent sales are for a 67 MW project at Burgos, Castile and León, by developer Eyra, and for the 24 MW Fionco project in Galicia by Norvento. Galicia's regional government is currently processing a 51 MW extension to Fionco. A 12 MW project for Portugal, also developed by Eyra, is pending project financing negotiations. Ecotècnia has also turned developer for a huge 155 MW project in Castile and León. The remaining 184 MW on Ecotècnia's books is for developments in three Spanish regions. For reasons of commercial confidence, Martínez declines to give further details of them. Of the 307 MW currently building, one is the big 128 MW Galicia Vento wind complex by developer Enerfin, the renewables arm of Spanish engineering group Elecnor. Ecotècnia is installing turbines equipped with systems enabling them to ride through grid faults. The company says it is the first order of its kind to be announced in Spain as a response to new wind regulation incentives for provision of grid support by wind plant. The other projects building are: Aerosur (57 MW) in Andalucia; Nerea (40 MW) in Zamora, Castile and León; Outes (32 MW) in Galicia and Pedreros (50 MW), in Castile La Mancha.
