Iberdrola's Polish subsidiary acquires 300 MW of projects
The Polish arm of Spanish energy company Iberdrola has acquired around 300 MW of wind projects that German company Eternegy had under development in Poland. Iberdrola says the purchase is part of the group's strategy to increase its global wind portfolio from 3000 MW to 5500 MW by the end of 2008. The projects are the latest to be offloaded by Eternegy. Its parent company, MVV Energie, announced plans last year to divest the developer (“uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç, May 2004). Recently, Germany's Iberdrola Regenerative Energie (IRE) acquired 120 MW of Eternegy wind projects under development in Germany as well as 60 MW in France (“uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç, August 2005).
