Inauguration of 5.95 MW plant on island of Pag
Adria Wind Power, a joint venture set up by German company Ostwind and Croatian partners, has formally inaugurated the 5.95 MW Ravne 1 wind station of seven Vestas turbines on the Croatia island of Pag, that started operation in autumn 2004. The plant is expected to generate 14 GWh of electricity for distribution by state energy company HEP, reports Ostwind. The goal of the joint venture is installation of 100 MW of wind capacity within the next few years. Ostwind says other locations suitable for wind power development have been earmarked in consultation with HEP and the Croatian department of energy. The next project is planned for a site near Dubrovnik in southern Croatia, according to Tonci Panza, Adria Wind Power director.
