Company sets green example
The new environmentally friendly base of Dulas Ltd, a renewable energy engineering company, has been formally opened by Welsh Secretary of State Ron Davies. The building, at the Dyfi Eco Parc, Machynlleth in Powys, was described in the Architect's Journal as having the "lowest embedded energy costs of any building surveyed so far." Dulas has 15 staff who offer consultancy, design and implementation in wind, solar, hydro and biomass. Dulas exports its services throughout the world, but is financed by the EC to promote renewable energy in Wales. It leads an initiative with Powys County Council and the new Dyfi Eco Valley Partnership to develop small scale renewables with the local community.
