Conservative Party politicians urged to go green
In an early demonstration of his green credentials, David Cameron, the new leader of the Conservative government opposition, is urging party members to switch to a renewable supply of electricity. At a press conference, Cameron led 14 of his shadow cabinet in switching to a green supply. Backing the Climate Change Now campaign, he showed how people can change electricity supplier in just four minutes during their lunch hour. However, lest anyone should think the Conservatives are now warming towards on-land wind turbines which they opposed under the leadership of Michael Howard, Cameron switched to Juice, a supply from offshore wind turbines offered by npower and Greenpeace.
