Mingyang Wind Power Technology has won a CNY 651.3 million ($88.4 million) tender to supply its 1.5 MW turbines, designed by German company Aerodyn and undergoing certification by Germanischer Lloyd, to Jilin Power Share Company for two 49.5 MW projects in Northeast China's Jilin province. The two projects are the CNY 525 million ($71.16 million) Changling No.30 Wind Farm and CNY 529 million ($71.7 million) Yaojingzi Wind Farm, both located in Jilin's wind-rich Changling County. Mass production of the units started in August. The turbines for the Jilin projects are due for commissioning in the fourth quarter of 2008. The same make of wind turbine is also being exported to a customer in the United States (page 27).
