GE Vernova has signed an order to supply eight of its 6.1MW-158m ‘workhorse’ turbines for a 49MW wind farm in Aragón, north-east Spain.
It booked the order for renewables developer Forestalia in the first quarter of 2025.
The deal is part of a 693MW framework agreement that the companies first announced in December 2023.
Spain aims to install 62GW of wind capacity by 2030 in a bid to generate at least 80% of its electricity from renewable sources by the end of the decade.
GE Vernova has factories in Ponferrada and Castella.
Its 6.1MW-158m turbine is one of the company’s ‘workhorse’ turbines. GE Vernova streamlined its product portfolio in a bid to reduce complexity and increase standardisation.
