Suzlon bags 205MW wind turbine order to power steel plants

Indian manufacturer Suzlon has received a 205MW wind turbine order from Jindal Green Wind – a subsidiary of Jindal Renewables – for its production of green steel.

The deal will see Suzlon supply 65 of its S144 wind turbine generators with hybrid lattice towers, each with a capacity of 3.15MW to power Jindal’s steel plants in the central and eastern Indian states of Chhattisgarh and Odisha.

It is Suzlon's largest order from the commercial and industrial sector. The company is now due to provide Jindal with 907.2MW of turbines.

With this latest order, commercial and industrial customers now make up 59% of Suzlon's total order book, which has reached a record 5.9GW.
