The turbine manufacturer signed deals to supply 97 wind turbines totalling 638MW of capacity at the end of last year. It announced the order haul today (14 January).
It will also service the turbines “over a period of several years”.
The announcement means Nordex won deals to supply more than 1GW of wind turbines to Turkey in 2024. The company claims it has a market-leading 30%-plus market share in the country.
Turkey aims to reach a combined wind and solar capacity of 125GW by 2035 amid a rapid growth in its anticipated electricity consumption.
The country has around 13GW of installed wind capacity at present, according to “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç Intelligence, the research and data division of “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç.
Nordex has also announced large order hauls in Germany, Greece and Spain in recent days.
