Vestas lands 319MW turbine order for Mexican wind project

Sempra has placed a 319MW order with Vestas, for the Cimarrón wind farm in Tecate, Baja California. 

The order includes supply and installation of 46 V163-4.5 MW turbines and 18 V162-6.2 MW turbines.

Delivery is planned for Q4 of 2024, with commissioning following a year later in Q4, 2025.

Vestas will then provide service for 10 years under the terms of the contract. 

Cimarrón will form the third phase of Sempra's 582MW Energía Sierra Juárez complex.
