Thai state-owned oil company to buy into Seagreen offshore wind farm

TotalEnergies has agreed to sell a 25.5% stake in the Seagreen offshore wind farm to Thai state-owned oil and gas company PTTEP for £522 million (€605 million).

When the transaction closes, TotalEnergies and PTTEP will both hold 25.5% stakes in Seagreen, while SSE Renewables will own 49%.

The project in the Scottish North Sea was commissioned last year and features 114 of Vestas’ V164-10.0MW turbines.

Meanwhile, having acquired a minority stake in the 950MW Moray East offshore wind farm in September 2023, investment fund manager Equitix has acquired a further 10% stake.

“uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç has asked Equitix to confirm the new ownership structure of the project in the Scottish North Sea.
