Vestas to supply nearly 400MW in Scotland and Finland

Vestas has secured turbine deals for nearly 400MW at wind farms in Scotland and Finland.

It will supply 49 of its V136-4.5 MW turbines to Pioneer Point Partners' 221MW North Kyle project in East Ayrshire, Scotland.

Turbine delivery is due to begin in the second 2024, ahead of commissioning being completed in the third quarter of 2025.

Vestas will also provide operations and maintenance services for 30 years.

The Danish manufacturer has also announced that it has received an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) order to build Neoen’s and Prokon’s Storbötet and Lumivaara wind farms.

The 105MW Storbötet will comprise 17 of its V162-6.2 MW turbines, and the 56MW Lumivaara project will consist of nine of its V162-6.2 MW turbines.

Turbine delivery will begin in the third quarter of 2024, with the wind farms scheduled to be fully operational by 2025.

Vestas will then service the wind farms for 20 years.
