Siemens Gamesa 11MW turbine installation under way at Hollandse Kust Noord

Turbine installation is under way at the 759MW Hollandse Kust Noord (HKN) project site, in the Dutch north sea off Egmond aan Zee. Set to comprise 69 SG 11.0-200 DD turbines, the wind farm is being developed by the Shell-Eneco joint venture, CrossWind.

Van Oord is deploying the Scylla to ship the turbines from Eemshaven. Weather permitting, one can be installed every 24 hours.

First power is expected this summer, with full operations due by the end of 2023. HKN will deliver at least 3.3 TWh annually.
