Danish wind giant Vestas has received a 50-turbine order from US renewable energy company Apex Clean Energy for its 300MW Goose Creek Wind project in Illinois, United States.
Goose Creek Wind Project will be located on approximately 81km² of open farmland in rural Piatt County in Illinois. It will comprise 50 V162-6.2MW turbines, each operating at 6MW.
Vestas will supply, deliver, and commission the turbines, and also service them for 10 years. Turbine delivery is scheduled for Q3 2023 with commissioning scheduled for Q4 2023.
Apex Clean Energy is currently developing a 40GW diversified portfolio in North America, made up of wind, solar and green fuel projects.
Illinois state closer to reaching its goal of 100% clean energy by 2050.
