Vattenfall buys majority share in 2.8GW of Swedish floating wind projects

Vattenfall is buying a majority 85% share in two Swedish offshore wind projects – Vidar and Poseidon – from Norwegian wind power company Zephyr.

Located off the coast of Gothenburg, the projects will have a combined capacity of 2800MW (each 1400MW) and primarily consist of floating wind turbines.

Vattenfall and Zephyr will now further develop the early stage projects and apply for the permits required to build them.

The projects are planned to be commissioned in 2031 and will generate 10.5 TWh of electricity a year.
