Nordex wins debut onshore wind turbine supply deal in Serbia

Nordex enters Serbian onshore wind market, which sales chief Patxi Landa describes as 'very promising'

Nordex is due to supply 22 of its N149/4.X turbines from its Delta4000 series for the 105MW Krivaca wind farm

Nordex has entered the Serbian market with an order for a 105MW onshore wind farm in the east of the country. 

It is due to supply 22 of its N149/4.X turbines from its Delta4000 series for the 105.6MW Kriva膷a wind farm in the municipality of Golubac. 

Serbia currently has 398MW of operational wind capacity, with manufacturers Vestas, Senvion and GE having previously supplied turbines there, according to 搖錢樹娛樂城 Intelligence, the research and data division of 搖錢樹娛樂城.

Up to 2.7GW of wind energy projects are in various stages of development in the country in south-eastern Europe.

So far, all of Serbia’s wind farms have been built in its northern province of Vojvodina. Krivača will be the first in eastern Serbia – Golubac is around 150km east of the capital city of Belgrade – and the first south of the Sava and Danube rivers. 

It was developed by Austrian wind farm developer Ivicom and will be operated by the Serbian conglomerate MK Group and the Slovenian ALFI Green Energy Fund. 

It is due to go into operation at the end of 2023. It is due to meet around 1% of Serbia's electricity needs, Nordex claimed.

The German turbine maker is due to supply the N149 turbines with power ratings of 4.8MW.  It will also service the turbines for 25 years.

Patxi Landa, chief sales officer of the Nordex Group said: "We are pleased to take this first step into the very promising Serbian market with the Krivača project." 

Nordex has installed more than 39GW of wind energy capacity in over 40 markets and in 2021 generated revenues of €5.4 billion.

Mihailo Jankovic, CEO of the MK Group said the conglomerate is investing €1 billion in the next five years as it helps to develop 800MW of  wind projects and 660MW of solar capacity.

Meanwhile, in neighbouring Montenegro, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is considering lending up to €82 million to Elektroprivreda Crne Gore (EPCG), to finance the development, construction and operation of the 55MW Gvozd wind farm. 

It is planned for a site in Nikšić in the west of the country.
