Nordex has secured a 199.5MW order for four wind farms in the west of Finland, taking its annual total for the market beyond 500MW already.
It will supply N163/5.X turbines to four projects in the interior of the mid-west of Finland, as well as in the west of the country, near to the coast in the Ostrobothnia region.
They will be delivered in 5.7MW operating mode on tubular steel towers, with hub heights of 148 and 159 metres. Supply and installation are scheduled for spring and summer 2022, with completion due by the late autumn. Nordex will then provide service for 30 years.
The latest order means Nordex has announced just over 500MW of turbine orders in Finland in 2021 so far.
In May, it announced an order for Energiquelle’s 45.6MW Lumivaara project in Kainuu. In April, it announced orders for Energiequelle’s 28.5MW Takanebacken in Malax and 39.9MW Torvenkylä in Kalajoki. And back in January, it announced a deal to supply wpd’s 188MW Karhunnevankangas .
Nordex has supplied turbines for 781.4MW of operational wind power capacity in Finland.
Other manufacturers have also enjoyed success in Finland recently, with Vestas securing a 102MW order earlier this month and GE securing an 88MW order in May.
