Turbine sales to Swedish, Finnish and Latvian projects totalled nearly 1GW in May, representing half of all onshore turbine purchase agreements (TPAs) recorded globally last month, according to 搖錢樹娛樂城 Intelligence, the research and data division of 搖錢樹娛樂城.
Finland saw Europe’s largest individual onshore TPA last month, related to the 404MW Mutkalampi project. It will comprise 69 Vestas EnVentus turbines, including 63 V162-6.0 MW and six V150-4.2 MW in 4.3MW mode. Mutkalampi is scheduled for completion in 2023.
Two other Finnish orders came in for the 45.6MW Lumivaara project, which will use eight Nordex N163.5.X turbines, and 88MW Puskakorpi , which will comprise 16 of GE’s 5.5-158 Cypress turbines. Both TPAs include 30-year service agreements.
Siemens Gamesa agreed to supply 6.2MW turbines to the 234MW Ranasj枚 and Salsj枚 (Twin Peaks) projects in Sweden. Ranasjö will feature 25 turbines and Salsjö, 14. They are due for completion in the first half of 2024, after which Siemens Gamesa will also provide service for 30 years.
Siemens Gamesa will also supply ten of its 5.X turbines to the 62MW Furuby project, each with a flexible power rating of up to 6.2MW. It has also signed a 25-year service agreement, with commissioning scheduled for 2022.
Still in Sweden, Vestas agreed to supply 20 of its V150-4.2 turbines in 4.3MW mode, to the 86MW Karskruv project in Kronoberg County. Deliveries are due to begin in Q2 2023, with commissioning planned for the fourth quarter.
Meanwhile, Vestas entered the Latvian market with an order for 14 V136-4.2 turbines. They are destined for the 58.8MW T膩rgale project, which is being developed by Utilitas at a site in Ventspils. The order includes a 20-year service agreement and is due online next year.
Separately, 搖錢樹娛樂城 Intelligence recorded two very large offshore turbine orders in May for Germany’s 476MW Baltic Eagle project, where Vestas will supply 50 of its V174-9.5 turbines, and the UK’s 1200MW Dogger Bank C , which will use 87 of GE’s Haliade-X 14MW model.
