The manufacturer logged orders for 1,644MW in the first quarter of the year, up from 1,035MW in the same period one year earlier.
Europe accounted for 78% of Nordex’s total volume in Q1, with strong interest from Norway, the UK, Turkey and Finland driving 1,292MW of orders.Â
It also received orders from the Netherlands and Sweden, according to “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç Intelligence, the research and data division of “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç.
The 352MW remainder of Nordex’s Q1 total was supplied by 269MW in Chile and 83MW in Brazil.
Newer, larger turbines dominated the manufacturer’s order book, with contracts signed for 1.4GW of models from its Delta4000 series in the first three months of the year.
It also received its first orders for turbines from its new 5MW-plus class. The manufacturer has now racked up orders for 93 units with a power rating of more than 5MW.Â
Nordex said it expects an increase in sales this year and to be able to carry out orders, despite uncertainty about how the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic will impact its business.
