A total of ten wind projects – nine developed by Spain’s Elawan Energy – with a combined capacity of 128.7MW were selected at a weighted average price of $58.84/MWh.
Almost 97MW of solar, 8.5MW of biomass, 12.75MW of biogas and 7.38MW of small hydro capacity was also secured.
The weighted average of solar came in just under wind at $57.59/MWh, while biogas, biomass and hydro were all above $100/MWh weighted average.
Argentina procured 259.08MW of new renewable capacity in the tender, representing $368m of investment.
The tender was nicknamed MiniRen as it targeted smaller-scale projects designed to be connected to medium voltage networks, with the added incentive of attracting new participants in to the sector, according to the Argentine government.
Argentina’s RenovAr programme has now procured over 6.3GW of renewable capacity.
