According to Goldwind, the Qinghai Electric Power Company monitored hydro, wind and solar resources using "short and ultra-short term power forecasts" to prioritise the clean energy generation to maximise consumption.
The province utility used a new Internet of Things (IoT) tool called the "Qinghai New Energy Big Data Innovation Platform" developed in partnership between State Grid Qinghai Electric Power Company, Goldwind, the Innovation Centre for Industrial Big Data, Tsinghua University and other strategic partners.
It is the first tool of its kind in China, Goldwind added.
In coal-reliant China, Goldwind said the platform used six unmanned power stations to provide clean energy to the province over the period 20-28 June.
The platform is now connected to over 40 generators adding 60GB of new data to the system every day.
Goldwind claims the platform is also able to monitor the health of the renewable energy sources, and has brought down labour costs and increased production.
The firm said Qinghai previously went seven days on renewable energy in early June.
Qinghai has over 5.8 million residents and roughly 85GW of wind power installed as of the end of June 2018, according to figures from the National Energy Adminsitration.
