The firm will supply two 4.5MW models to the Wennerstorf II repowering project in Lower Saxony, northern Germany.
It will be the first time the turbine, unveiled in September, will be deployed and will contribute towards getting IEC certification.
The project site experiences 6.5m/s average wind speeds, Nordex added. Turbines are due to be installed this year.
Wennerstorf was originally installed in 2003, comprising four 1.3MW Bonus turbines for 5.2MW of total capacity.
The site will now comprise two 4.5MW turbines, totalling 9MW of potential output.
In April, Nordex announced the N149 would also be deployed as part of a framework agreement with PNE.
