Tunisia has roughly 245MW of installed wind capacity (pic: Ministère de l’Energie, des Mines et des Energies Renouvelables Tunisie)

The tender comprises two concessions that have already been identified for a project of around 200MW at Jbel Abdherrahmane in Nabeul governorate and another of around 100MW at Jbel Tbaga in Kebili governorate.

The remaining 200MW will comprise projects of up to 100MW each on sites proposed by the developers.

The deadline for applications will be specified in the tender terms, which should be published shortly, according to the energy ministry.

Submissions will be evaluated on the basis of the experience of developers in the development, finance, construction and operation of similar projects.

The eventual winners will be awarded a 20-year concession and the right to sign a power purchase agreement for a negotiable term with the state utility STEG.
