The company said the plant will support an additional 300 direct and indirect jobs in the region when it is completed.
The move will aid Vestas in reaching local content requirements, and follows a recent up-tick in interest in the Latin American country.
In December 2017, Argentina held its second renewable power auctions, with wind projects producing the cheapest results. Eight sites, totalling roughly 666MW, won federal support at an average price of $41.23/MWh.
Argentina's energy minister, Juan Aranguren, said: "The fact that a global leader in renewable energy is interested in expanding its presence in Argentina clearly proves that we are on the right path, providing investors with the confidence and trust needed to invest in our green transition."
Vestas claimed to have installed 900MW of wind capacity in the country since it entered the market in 1991 with a turbine supply deal for the Neuquen project.
