UK-based Ordtek will explore the sites of the potential Bay State Wind and Ocean Wind projects off the coast of Massachusetts and New Jersey, respectively, in the US.
It will also carry out research and risk assessment for Ørsted’s four-project Greater Changhua cluster in Taiwan, which has a combined capacity of up to 4.2GW, as well as the up-to-128MW Formosa 1 site.
The US has just the one 30MW offshore project, while the two 4MW turbines forming the pilot phase of Ørsted’s Formosa 1 project are Taiwan’s only operational offshore machines.
Ordtek director Lee Gooderham, said: "Breaking into the US and Taiwan offshore wind markets, which are very new, is exciting news and has come at just the right time for us.
"A presence in the US and Taiwan will hopefully open more doors as the industry takes off in both countries."
Ordtek has previously carried out surveys for Ørsted at the Race Bank, Walney Extension and Hornsea Project One sites.
The developer, meanwhile, stated it is willing to in its Greater Changhua projects earlier this month.
