Goldwind Americas names Siemens Gamesa sales chief as new CEO

UNITED STATES: David Sale, former head of sales operations at Siemens Gamesa, has been appointed CEO of Goldwind Americas.

Sale replaces David Halligan, who left the company last week to launch a new renewable energy venture focused on distributed and digital energy solutions.

Prior to the merger of Siemens and Gamesa, Sale had been vice president of sales at Siemens Wind Power Americas.

described Goldwind’s permanent-magnet direct-drive (PMDD) technology as "market leading", and the company as having a "best-in-class product portfolio". He added: "I cannot imagine a more important and exciting time to join Goldwind.
