Prysmian was contracted by project owner Cobra Wind International to provide two export cables and inter-array cables for the eight-turbine, up-to-48MW site.

Installation of the cables is planned during 2018 and 2019, the company stated.
Each export cable is approximately 17km long and comprises both "dynamic" and "static" sections — in which the cable will and will not stretch under load, respectively.
A roughly 0.5km dynamic cable route section will complete the connection to each floating tower, Prysmian added.
The submarine cables will be produced at Prysmian’s facilities at Vilanova on the northeast Spanish coast, and at the port city of Drammen in southeast Norway.
Alessandro Panico, the group’s sales team manager for offshore wind, said the contract was the company's first for an floating offshore wind project.
"We recognise the continued growth in this developing segment of the market which is of particular strategic interest for our business," Panico said.
When completed, Kincardine could be Scotland’s second floating project. Statoil’s 30MW Hywind project last October.
But it will face competition for second place, after the Scottish government to Hexicon’s 12MW floating site planned for northeast Scotland in March 2017.
