Nordex wins 115MW Swedish deal

SWEDEN: German manufacturer Nordex has been awarded a 115MW order from Falck Renewables to supply two projects in Västerbotten, north Sweden.

Nordex will optimise its 3.9MW turbines for the north Sweden climate

Nordex will supply 31 N131 3.9MW turbines across the Aliden and Brattmyrliden projects. They will be completed by Q4 2019 and Q4 2020 respectively, Nordex said.

The sites, located roughly 100km west of the city of Umea, will also see Nordex act as the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor.

Turbines will be installed on 134-metre high towers, with 65.5-metre blades adapted to operate in the arctic conditions.

Falck and Nordex are regular project partners. In September 2015, the developer placed a 25MW order with Nordex to supply the Assel Valley project in Scotland. As well as a number of Scottish wind farms, Nordex has also supplied Falck for projects in Italy and France, according to “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç Intelligence.
