Nordex wins Turkey double order

TURKEY: German manufacturer Nordex has booked another 72MW of orders from two developers in Turkey wanting to feature the firm's N131 platform.

Nordex will deliver its N131/3600 turbine to two sites in southern Turkey

Local developer Pakmem Elektric has ordered 14 N131/3600 turbines for the Cerit project in southern Turkey.

Delivery is due in spring 2018 and Nordex will service the turbines for 15 years. The project is located on two ridges in the Anatolia region at 1,510 metres and 1,865 metres high with average wind speeds of 6.6m/s, Nordex said.

Nordex has also won a four-turbine deal with Turkish developer Sur Enerji for the 14.4MW Kurtini project near Mersin, on the country's southern coast.

The turbines will be installed at lower altitudes than the Cerit project, but with higher wind speeds of 7.6m/s.

These orders follow a 39MW deal at the end of June for Nordex in Turkey. Erdem Holding awarded Nordex the contract to supply its N131 3.9MW low-wind machine for the first time.
