Vestas awarded biggest Greek project

GREECE: Vestas has won the contract to supply turbines to a 90MW wind project in north-west Greece, set to become the country's largest site.

Vestas said it has installed 1.3GW of wind capacity in Greece

Vestas will deliver 25 V136-3.45MW turbines to Eltech Anemo's Kassidiaris project in early 2018.

The turbines will be uprated with Vestas' power-mode option, giving each machine a maximum output of 3.6MW.

Vestas revealed its new 3.45MW low-wind V136 onshore turbine at the Husum Wind 2015 trade fair in Germany.

The main features of Vestas' new low-wind turbine are a benchmark rotor diameter of 136 metres, and hub heights of up to 149 metres with the potential to exceed 160 metres.

Vestas will service the turbines under a 20-year maintenance agreement. The Danish manufacturer said it has installed around 1.3GW of wind turbines in Greece.
