PTC India boosts wind portfolio

INDIA: PTC India, one of the sub-continent's largest power trading players, has commissioned 190MW of new wind capacity in Andhra Pradesh.

Power trading company PTC India is expanding its wind portfolio rapidly

The company previously had only 50MW of capacity online, and that was accounted for by just one project that went online a few months ago.

The 190MW of new capacity is spread across five different sites in Andhra Pradesh, and comprises a mix of wind turbine types commissioned and operated by different developers including Regen Powertech, Gamesa, and Inox Wind.

Deepak Amitabh, chairman of PTC Energy Limited, a fully owned subsidiary of PTC India, said: "The company has been entrusted with a very important component of PTC group business strategy — that of asset creation.

"We are delighted to see the company execute projects in adherence to timelines, and achieve a scale of nearly six times the capacity it had at the beginning of FY 2016-17," he said.
