Vestas wins Ukraine order

UKRAINE: Vestas has been awarded a 41MW deal by Vindkraft Tavriya to provide turbines to a project in the Novotroitsk district, southern Ukraine.

Vestas has received a second order for the V126 in the Ukraine since it restarted activities there

Vestas will deliver 12 V126-3.45MW turbines to the Novotroitsk project, with delivery in the third quarter of this year. 

It is the firm's second order in the country since it restarted activities there at the end of 2016. Vestas halted its operations in Ukraine during the political tensions of the past few years.

According to “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç Intelligence, the research and data division of “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç, Vestas has installed 237.3MW in Ukraine to date.

In 2014, Vestas' then-president of central Europe, Christoph Vogel, told “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç he was watching the instability in the Ukraine "very carefully". Vogel left the manufactuer in August 2015 for personal reasons. 

In December 2016, Vestas won a 21MW order and service contract from Karpatenwind for six V126-3.45MW turbines. The machines are due to be installed in Q2 2017.
