Vestas wins 50.4MW Norwegian order

NORWAY: Vestas has won a deal to supply 14 turbines to a project in Sortland, north Norway, for developer Fortum.

Vestas said its V126 platform had won orders of over 1.5GW in Norway, Finland and Sweden

The V126-3.45MW turbines, optimised for 3.6MW output, will power the 50.4MW Anstadblaheia project in northern Norway.

Ground work at the site is due to begin this month, according to the developer. Fortum completed the acquisition of the site, along with two others also in northern Norway, from developer Nordkraft in January.

Delivery of Vestas' turbines is due to begin in Q3 2018, the manufacturer said. The order also includes a five-year servicing agreement.

Vestas said its V126 platform, ranging from 3MW to 3.6MW, has received over 1.5GW of orders in Norway, Sweden and Finland.
