Last year was a disappointing one for Siemens' onshore wind business, as it slipped to eighth in the Bloomberg New Energy Finance figures for installations, released last week.
However, the German OEM has won two contracts at community-owned projects in northern Germany.
It will deliver six 3.3MW turbines to the Damme wind farm project to replace 15 existing 2MW turbines.
The site had been in operation since 2002 and in October 2016 ordered six Siemens 3.3MW turbines as part of an extension to the project.
As a result of the repowering, the 15 turbines will be reduced to 12, but output will increase from 30MW to 39.6MW.
The project operator is also inviting local citizens to invest in the project.
Elsewhere, Siemens is also supplying seven SWT-3.0-113 turbines to extend the community-owned Burgerwindpark Brebek project near Karlum, in Schleswig-Holstein.
The site already comprises five Siemens turbines, completed in 2015.
