Fritsch-Nehring, co-managing director alongside Hans Dieter Kettwig, will resign on 31 October and leave the company by the end of the year. She is leaving to "take up new professional challenges elsewhere", Enercon said in a statement.

Enercon thanked Fritsch-Nehring for her service in the best interest of the company. Fritsch-Nehring has been at Enercon "in a position of responsibility" since 1997.

She became managing director of Wobben Properties (patents) in March 2009, then head of Wobben Research and Development (Enercon technical development) in September 2010.

In October 2013, Fritsch-Nehring was appointed co-managing director of Enercon and deputy chairman of the Wobben Foundation with responsibility for technology, personnel and IT.

In June 2016, Enercon appointed Torsten Hedemann as head of IT reporting to Fritsch-Nehring, following similar roles at Senvion and GE.
