The factory is used to manufacture blades for the company's G114 platform and currently employs around 180 people.

During a visit of the factory with local dignitaries, Gamesa's Europe and Middle East chief executive Rircardo Chocarro confirmed plans to increase production at the site.

The new line will add 100 jobs to the site, Gamesa said.

According to the company, the factory is manufacturing the blades for the 10MW Sanida Kelaki project in Cyprus and another project in Turkey.

In November 2014, Gamesa secured the first order for the G114-2.5MW turbine from infrastructure firm John Laing for a project in Sweden.

The G114 turbine featured in “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç's top ten onshore turbines up to 2.9MW of 2015.
