Gamesa and Iberdrola sign Costa Rica development deal

COSTA RICA: Gamesa and Iberdrola will supply and install four 20MW projects in Costa Rica for operator Globeleq Mesoamerica Energy.

Gamesa's G90-2MW turbine will be installed at the Alisios complex in Costa Rica

Gamesa will supply 19 G90-2MW and 21 G87-2.1MW turbines to the four projects — collectively named Alisios — in the second quarter of 2016.

Iberdrola will be responsible for the engineering, procurement and construction of the wind farms.

The complex comprises the Vientos de la Perla and Vientos de Miramar in the Liberia region of north-west Costa Rica; and the Altamira and Campos Azules sites in the Tilaran region, also in the north-west of the country.

According to “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç Intelligence, the research and data division of “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç, Costa Rica had 198MW of operating wind capacity at the end of 2015.
