Senvion awarded two UK deals totaling 82MW

UK: Senvion has been handed deals by Fred Olsen Renewables and Blue Energy to supply turbines to two onshore projects with a combined 82MW capacity in Scotland.

Senvion's MM92 2.05MW turbine will be installed at both Scottish projects

In its first deal with Fred Olsen, Senvion will supply 21 high wind MM82 and nine of the longer-bladed medium-to-low wind MM92 2.05MW turbines to the 61.5MW Brockloch Rig project in Dumfries and Galloway, southwest Scotland.

Turbine installation is expected to begin at the site in summer 2016. Planning consent for the site was granted in March 2007.

In the second deal, announced earlier this week, Senvion was handed the contract to supply Blue Energy's Cour project on the Mull of Kintyre, west Scotland.

Senvion will delivery ten MM92 turbines to the site in summer 2016, with commissioning due the following autumn.

It is the sixth deal Senvion has won from Blue Eneryg in the UK.

The German manufacturer won its largest UK order to date from Blue Energy in October. Blue Energy placed a 109MW order for ten Senvion 3.4M-102 and 22 3.4M-114 turbines for the Beinneun project near Fort Augustus in the Scottish Highlands.
