Nordex wins 25MW in latest Falck Renewables deal

UK: Italian developer Falck Renewables has placed a 25MW order with German manufacturer Nordex for the supply of turbines to a project in south west Scotland.

Nordex will supply its N90/2500 turbine to the Assel Valley project in south-west Scotland

Nordex will deliver ten N90 2.5MW high-wind-speed turbines to the Assel Valley project, located around 35 kilometers north of Stranraer, on Scotland's south-west coast.

The average wind speed at the site is 9 m/s, the manufacturer said.

The German company will also supply civil and engineering works as part of the turnkey deal. Each turbine will be installed on a 65-metre tower, to comply with planning regulations.

Project completion is expected in October 2016 and Nordex will service the turbines for five years.

The manufacturer said the deal was its 15th contract from Falck, with ten of the projects located in the UK. According to “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç Intelligence, the data and research division of “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç, Nordex previously supplied 19 N90 turbines Falck's 47.5MW Kilbraur project in northern Scotland.

Falck Renewables said it has a 711MW wind power portfolio across Italy, Spain, France and the UK.
