The Goldwind 1.5MW platform is based on an original design by Vensys that debuted in 2004. Over 10,000 have been installed.
The 1.5 Value Plus is an upgrade of the old models, utilising new technology and software. Goldwind said it would raise the product's power generating efficiency and significantly boost the investment return of wind projects.
The new product features a mode of "adjustable whole unit capacity". It adopts a 1.65MW active air-cooled converter that prolongs the machine's life expectancy.
It is also accompanied by a new system to enhance the power productivity of the project, through optimisation of the turbine's generating performance and making it more adaptable to grid requirements.
