Senvion wins 18MW Italian deal

ITALY: Senvion has been awarded a contract by Burgentia Energia to supply turbines to an 18MW project in Basilicata, southern Italy.

Senvion will deliver six 3MW turbines to the project in southern Italy

Burgentia Energia, a subsidiary of PLC System, has ordered six Senvion 3MW turbines for the Brienza project.

Delivery of the turbines is expected in summer 2015, and Senvion will service them for five years.

Senvion also said the 90-metre steel towers will be manufactured at a facility in Italy.

It is the first time Senvion has supplied a 3MW turbine with a 122-metre diameter rotor to a project in Italy. The company said it has installed 366 other turbines in the country, totalling 774MW.
