Siemens wins 100MW deal in Canada.

CANADA: Siemens has secured an order for a 100MW project in Canada from the Northland Power-backed Grand Bend Wind Limited Partnership

The project will use Siemens 3.2MW turbines

The contract is for 3.2MW 113-metre rotor medium-wind turbines to go to the Grand Bend project wind project, 220 kilometres southwest of Toronto, Ontario. According to Siemens the project will be commissioned in the first half of 2016.

It includes a 15-year service agreement.

Speaking about the deal, Siemens onshore CEO Thomas Richterich said: "Canada is one of the most important markets for us across the Americas. For the first time we will be supplying wind turbines for a Canadian project to Northland Power."
