First turbine installed at Luchterduinen

NETHERLANDS: The first turbine has been installed at the 129MW Eneco Luchterduinen offshore project in the Dutch North Sea.

The first turbine has been installed at Eneco Luchterduinen

The MHI-Vestas V112 3MW is the first of 43 turbines to be installed at the site, 23 kilometres off the Dutch coast.

Developer Eneco said the project is expected to be online in August 2015 with first power due in May. The project is a partnership between the Dutch utility and Mitsubishi.

The turbine was put in place by Van Oord's new Aeolus jack-up installation vessel. Luchterduinen is the vessel's first charter.

Last month, Luchterduinen's 900-tonne was installed. It was designed and built by Belgian engineering firms Cofely Fabricom, Lemants, and CG.
