Susanne Nors Hebsgaard is head of energy and environment for the Danish government's trade council with China. Hebsgaard predicts the Chinese offshore market will equal the entire European offshore market by 2020.
Hebsgaard was speaking to “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç TV at the EWEA Offshore 2015 event in Copenhagen.
She said: "It is important to build a basis for cooperation between the Chinese developers and the competences we have developed in Denmark since we established the first offshore wind park in 1991."
Mita-Teknik chief sales officer Thorbjørn Rasmussen said China will be able to benefit from years of Danish companies' research and development to grow its offshore sector economically.
Rassmussen said up to 30% of costs could be saved in China by working with European offshore firms.
"Installation methods, developed over a decade, have become more and more cost effective. By [forming] alliances with Danish companies with that sort of experience, [China] gets faster and more cost-effective solutions," he said.
