Gamesa wins 150MW in Brazil

BRAZIL: Gamesa has won orders for a combined capacity of 150MW in Brazil from two developers.

The orders include the G114 low wind turbine

The largest of the two contracts is for 54 G114 2MW low wind turbines to go to the União dos Ventos complex located in the towns of Pedra Grande and Parazinho in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, in north-east Brazil. The order is from Serveng.

Delivery is set for 2016 and 2017, with a view to coming online by end-2017. Serveng had been expected to use the GE 1.6MW turbine on União dos Ventos after it signed a 170MW deal for the machine in 2011.

Gamesa has also won a contract from Chesf and Sequoia for the supply of turbines to a 42MW project in Brazil.

Gamesa will install 21 G97 2MW turbines on the Papagaio, Coqueirinho and Tamanduá Mirim 2 projects in Bahia, to the east of the country. Commissioning is due in the second half of 2016.
