The Chinese manufacturer set up the facility to manufacture its 5MW offshore turbine as it looks to push into commercial production of the machine.
CSIC said that the facility could produce up to 100 units annually, realising around CNY 1.2 billion ($195 million) for the company.
These turbines are believed to be destined for the second 80MW phase of Sinohydro's Rudong Zhongshui Intertidal Demonstration Project. CSIC installed ten of its 2MW turbines at the first phase of the project in 2013.
Two prototypes of the 5MW turbine achieved full power at Longyuan's Rudong intertidal project in 2013.
The direct-drive permanent-magnet turbine has 75-metre blades designed by LM Wind Power. The turbine was co-developed with Mecal, KK-Electronic and German offshore specialist Lehnhoff Consulting.
