Dulas planning Lidar fleet purchase

UK: Wind data firm Dulas has announced plans to purchase "a fleet" of ZephIR lidars to rent out to the UK and European markets.

ZephIR’s DM lidar can gather wind data up to 300 metres in front of a turbine

Dulas plans to acquire ZephIR's 300 and DM lidars in order to expand its portfolio of wind data services.

The ZephIR 300 is a ground-based vertical wind lidar able to complete measurements upto 200 metres high. It can be operated on and offshore.

ZephIR's DM lidar is turbine mounted and can gather wind data up to 300 metres in front of a turbine. It can be used on short-term contracts to measure power curves and ensure greater turbine optimization.

Dulas account manager Rhian Evans said: "With the introduction of lidar to our portfolio, we can help to deliver fully bankable, hub height wind measurements."
