Gamesa secures 46MW Indian orders

INDIA: Gamesa has won orders totalling 46MW from wind project developers across India.

Gamesa is a leading supplier of turbines in India

Gamesa did not reveal the customers but said the orders would deliver a total of 23 G97-2MW turbines to three projects.

Four turbines will be delivered to the Chandargh project, seven will be sent to the Lingsagur site and and 12 will be manufactured for the Ramnagar complex. Chandargh is in south-west India, while the other two are located in the north of the country.

Gamesa said its outlook in India has also been improved as the Indian central bank cut interest rates by 0.25%. This should allow greater access to funding, Gamesa said.

In October, Gamesa signed orders for over 172MW of turbines to five projects across India.

The Spanish firm will install 86 G97-2MW turbines at developments in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Rajasthan and Maharashtra.
